  • On May 19, 1988, the UC Regents voted to move forward with a plan to establish a new campus in this region.
  • In 1989, the Regents further authorized then UC President David P.
  • By 1992, the field was narrowed once more, this time to three final contenders: Fresno, Madera, and Merced.
